How to take part

  1. Let a child chooseA child decides your outfit from head to toe. It doesn’t have to be your own child: a godchild, grandchild or the neighbour’s kid works just as well.
  2. Wear it all dayGo to work, the shops, meetings and hobbies in your outfit. The everyday setting is what makes it fun.
  3. Share a photoTake a photo and share it with #letyourchilddressyou or #annalapsesipukeasinut. Challenge your colleagues and friends to join.
The story

More colour for grey everyday life

Let Your Child Dress You Day (Anna lapsesi pukea sinut -päivä) was invented by Finnish host and entrepreneur Lauri Salovaara from Oulu. The idea is simple: everyday life has room for much more colour and imagination when a child gets to decide.

The day has been held more than ten times. It takes place twice a year: on the Friday closest to Universal Children’s Day (20 November) and in spring, on a Friday in April at least a week before May Day. It has never been commercialised, and anyone can join.
